Policy Lead – Permanent – Full Time 37 hours per week
The Risk Management Authority (RMA) is a Non Departmental Public Body which focuses on protecting the public from the risk of serious harm posed by violent and sexual offending.
The RMA has created a new Policy Lead role to contribute to a range of legislative duties with a particular focus on the RMA’s contribution to identifying, developing and implementing policy.
The Role
The Policy Lead will work within the Effective Practice team and provide assurance to the Head of Effective Practice on key areas. The Effective Practice team will provide advice to Scottish Ministers on behalf of the RMA and will work closely with the RMA development and OLR teams contributing to research, training, Standards and Guidelines and Order for Lifelong Restriction functions.
The role has oversight and management responsibility for activities relating to policy and will be required to lead and deliver on projects for the development of this area. The role is required to develop and maintain stakeholder relationships, and contribute to the development, delivery and continual improvement of policy and practice.
The Person
This challenging post requires a range of experience and expertise in the field of criminal justice policy. The successful candidate will have a track record in leading on the development and implementation of policy; have demonstrable project management and communication skills to engage and influence practitioners, managers, and policy makers; and importantly, will have a sound appreciation of the RMA’s purpose, legislative duties and operations.

Terms & Conditions
The RMA offers excellent conditions of employment which include 25 days annual leave, 11½ days public/privilege holidays, flexible working hours and pension. The Policy Lead is a Grade 6 post with a salary range of £41,768 – £47,161
