New RMA Board member appointed

    The RMA is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Katharine Russell to the RMA Board.

    Since qualifying, with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Glasgow, Dr Russell has worked in maximum security, medium security, and community forensic services in Scotland. For the last 8 years she has been co-Lead of the NHS Lothian Sex Offender Liaison Service which is aligned to the development of MAPPA in Scotland.

    The appointment will be for five years, running from 01/08/2015 to 31/07/2020. The appointment is part-time and attracts a remuneration of £5,880 per annum for a time commitment of 2 to 3 days per month.

    This appointment was regulated by the Public Appointments Commissioner for Scotland. All appointments to the RMA Board are made on merit and political activity plays no part in the selection process. However, in accordance with the original Nolan recommendations, there is a requirement for appointees’ political activity within the last five years (if there is any to be declared) to be made public.
